Keeping the Heat on for Families in our Community

Each winter, many families struggle to warm their homes when the temperatures drop. Warming Hands and Hearts is a United Way of the Eastern Panhandle initiative that coordinates efforts to keep the heat on for the neediest of our community members.

This is accomplished by pooling existing funds from Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) and charitable and faith-based organizations then supplementing those dollars with donations from the Warming Hands and Hearts fund.  Warming Hands and Heats is used to fill the gaps when all other resources are exhausted.

Roach Energy & ROCS Team

R.M. Roach employs nearly 200 hard working men and women in the Tri-State area. We recognize that our employees are a huge part of our success.  They are the face of the organization and are willing to do whatever it takes to create a positive customer experience. It’s our service and expertise in our respective fields that set us apart from the competition.

Four Generations of Success

It all started with the hiring of a truck driver in 1927. The Texas Company had been operating at its location on East John Street in Martinsburg since 1917, and R. Mark “Mickey” Roach was hired ten years later to operate a tank truck as part of the firm’s kerosene and gasoline supply business. Today an incarnation of that business, R.M. Roach & Sons still exists in the Panhandle, and the story of the family who owns and operates it is an incredible account that truly needs to be shared with our community.
